A Point of View on Reservations

Wipro chairman Mr. Azim Prem ji's comment on reservation: Good on....

Arnab Goswami: I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. What do you say Mr Premji?

Azim Premji: Arnab, I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this.

Let's start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC /ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century. We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player. Any delivery above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters.

There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country.. )

Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the country..)

Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward...

Let's show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country. Let's be proud of being an INDIAN..

PK! You Are Hurting Hindus to Solve Your Problems

I was very curious to watch PK after hearing debates and sort of mix review comments among my friends who had already watched the movie. I was very confident that I will prove that movie is actually about positive changes from the actor who had given us 3 Idiots. I had really believed that the movie would be about taking head on the System of Religion Enterprise, without any bias to any religion.

However, it turned out to be other way round.

I watched the movie, scene by scene, it turned out very clear that one religion was used to put forth issues in the light of that religion predominantly. I became more and more sad. Hinduism was at main focus to talk about negatives.

I deeply regret watching PK. This has hurt my religious sentiments. I am from a particular religion. I am not mentioning the name of my religion because you can easily make it out if you have watched the movie.

If you are able to guess what my religion is by now that makes my point very clear which one particular religion was targeted. You would have probably understood the plot now who is shown in bad light in this movie.

Yes, I am a Hindu and I am upset after watching this movie.

Problem lies in comparing religions and unnecessarily focusing on only one, the way PK movie does. OMG movie was another example. Looks like Bollywood is getting more and more obsessed with negative entertainment in the name of religion, asking for liberty in the name of creativity in the wrong sense.

That was it until I thought again about this episode, in piece.

Hinduism was sacrificed again. It is probably the only religion that can be risked to bring the solid positive message, 'the world is one colorful family' of a variety of religions. Yes, Hinduism accepts everyone even if the other is not ready to even tolerate.

Hinduism encompasses all. It has emerged as an international language to provide a platform to discuss problems common to all religions. It is the religion of all religions.

Same year, Hollywood also released a movie Lucy which shows the human potential similar to Hindu concepts. This is how it should be.

It is Hinduism that can bear the sins of others and be at the center stage to take the blames of the society for the betterment of society. This is what Jesus did when He sacrificed His life for the sins of others.

Hinduism is all about inner transformation with lots and lots of mythological literature that entertains the shallow mind and, go a little deeper, enlightens who dive deep into it. And, you have the choice to choose either one or both of them.
